President Wayne Hevey

Paula and Tom Klaveniek along with Sandra and Michael Golding, are to be congratulated and commended for the wonderful variety of experiences we were offered during the far to short stay in and around the beautiful McLaren Vale area. The slightly different structure of the event this year, which offered participants multiple choices following the lunch festivities, gave everyone the chance to indulge in whatever they fancied or hadn't managed to do on previous trips to this part of the country.

Wonderful and plentiful wineries mixed with exquisite antique shopping and of course the abundance of tourist attractions, satisfied even the most discerning needs, intermingled with the absolutely fabulous windy roads that our little charges love to prance along. Well done again to the aforementioned, I can't wait to return and do it all again with similar like-minded characters.

Stay tuned for next year's GOTF; the Southern Highlands of NSW are looking quite attractive I am led to believe!

Our Annual Dinner is almost upon here in Victoria, you no doubt are aware of this fact and I look forward to catching to the regular attendees but really would love to see a huge influx of new faces. Those who haven't joined us previously, get out of that warm lounge chair, grab your friends and head down to the St. Kilda Marina on Friday 18th June (please touch base with our treasurer if you haven't already), I guarantee you a great night.

I indicated last edition that this being our 25th Anniversary, this year's Parade event would be something special. We are looking to attract at least 150 guests for the Saturday night Gala Dinner that is to be held in one of Melbourne's finest hotels.

We as the Australian 356 Porsche family shall enjoy canapés and sparkles in the foyer around the one of our first models into Australia, followed by a scrumptious three-course meal in a superb dining room setting. Mark your calendars now keeping this date free and ensure all of our members and friends, know of the occasion and join us in the birthday celebrations. Once again I reiterate this will be an evening to remember.

It is also excellent to see other States are staging regular meetings and events and I encourage our interstate members to attend these functions so the enthusiasm grows amongst others who hear of the activities but are yet to join the fun being had. Keep up the good work and please let us know if there is anything we can do to assist.

I still have a limited number of the 100 - year badges, if you are interested in securing one of these, send your money through to our mailbox or contact the treasurer; we then will mail them to you.

Regards,
Wayne Hevey
